I made these – and wow – amazing!!!
I cooked one tray which are alittle soft – and one tray a bit longer to see which we preferred. Answer – both!

Hi Rose, white sugar will be fine, and I always use to squish my cookies on one tray so you can definitely do it. If they merge together you can separate them with a knife. I just do it on two trays these days to be safe but it’s definitely fine on one tray too.
